I have decided to open up a small list to start TAKING COMMISSIONS. Spots are very limited. If you'd like to purchase one, please read/click the options below, and/or visit the SKETCHES section of the STORE.

Commission your own custom drawing, to be rendered much like the Sketch Of The Day! pieces offered here. Dimensions are generally anywhere from 8.5" x 9" to 9" x 12", depending upon paper availability and my general whim. Paper is typically toned paper or chipboard.

These pieces are to feature ONE fully-rendered character of your choosing. I typically do portrait/bust shots, but may include more of the figure if i decide to. Backgrounds are moderate, and may be suggested, but will ultimately be drawn as I see fit.

These sketches will be posted as part of my Sketch Of The Day! content, and may take up to 3 weeks to be completed.

These pieces are to feature ONE rendered character of your choosing. I typically do portrait/bust shots, but may include more of the figure if i decide to. No backgrounds whatsoever. A TWO character sketch of this same quality can be selected in the drop down menu here. 

These sketches will be posted as part of my Sketch Of The Day! content, and may take up to 3 weeks to be completed.

Sketch Card Commission

This is a commissioned sketch of your choice on a custom printed, standard-sized trading card.

I generally only have room for a portrait/bust shot, but I reserve the right to add whatever I deem fit for the piece. The sketch will be inked and rendered with Copic markers. ONE character only. Background will be modest, if at all, and of my choice.

These sketches will be posted as part of my Sketch Of The Day! content, and may take up to 3 weeks to be completed.

Blank Variant 11x17 Walking Dead commission

This is a commission offered on an ULTRA RARE Blank Variant of the 11"x 17" Walking Dead #1 Artist Proof Edition. There are only 500 of these books in existence, and I have them all. You literally cannot get this book ANYWHERE else. I will only put up 10 of these at a time, and once sold, i will not offer them again until all 10 are finished and shipped.

The artwork i do on these is fully rendered, often in Copic marker, acrylic paint, and potentially various other mixed media, depending on what i need to get the effect i'm going for. 

The drawing can be of ONE character, with a modest amount of background. I generally do portrait/bust shots, but i reserve the right to add whatever i deem fit for the piece. 

If you're looking for the kind of piece that no one else will have, this is the white whale of both Walking Dead books and commissions.

These sketches will be posted as part of my Sketch Of The Day! content, and may take up to 3 weeks to be completed. 

 

If you are coming to a convention, here is what i offer:

  • FULL COMMISSION: This is an 8.5 x 11" or similarly sized sheet of card stock, fully penciled, inked, and shaded, to your request. I generally only do a few of these for any convention, as they are a lot of work. My wife pre-sells them on Twitter (@ArtSalesKara) a few weeks before the show, and they are to be picked up at that convention in person. ID check required. These cost $1000.

  • LARGE SKETCH: This is an 8.5 x 11" or similarly sized sheet of card stock, with a large, looser sketch typically done in marker, with finishing embellishments as the notion strikes me. I do these on a first-come-first-served bases on the show floor, and they are subject to availability based on how busy I am, and how successfully i have avoided a hangover. These cost $500.

  • BLANK COVER VARIANT COMIC SKETCH: These are those newfangled blank cover comics, with a large, looser sketch typically done in marker, with finishing embellishments as the notion strikes me. I do these on a first-come-first-served basis on the show floor, and they are subject to availability based on how busy I am, and how much I hate the paper used on the book you're bringing me. These cost $600

  • BOOK REMARK / TRADING CARD SKETCH: These are looser sketches done on a comic or whatever you choose, at about the size of a baseball card. They are typically drawn in marker, but i reserve the right to use whatever materials I'm comfortable with at the time. Also, they are subject to availability based on how busy I am. These cost $200.
