Sketch of the Day! MR WILSON

Tony

A few years ago, on a tattoo trip to Grants Pass Oregon, i became friends with a fan named Brant Boersma, crowned prince of Dutch Bros coffee. He invited my family to his house, and there i met a wise little dog who stole my heart. His name is Mr Wilson.

Sketch of the Day! STRIPE

Tony

My 5 yr old daughter's got a lot of big talk recently about wanting to watch GREMLINS since it's a scary Christmas movie, so we're gonna give it a whirl. It'll likely scare the shit out of her, but i think she's gonna love it.

Sketch of the Day! MORBIUS, THE LIVING VAMPIRE

Tony

I had a lot of fun drawing this guy in Punisher: Franken-Castle. I got a lot of online complaints that i made him look sickly. He was. I will never apologize for making MORBIUS THE LIVING VAMPIRE not hunky enough. Sorry, not sorry.

Sketch of the Day! THE DARK KNIGHT

Tony

"You don't get it, boy..."

When i turned 10, i got to go see Tim Burton's BATMAN , and I received a copy of The Complete Frank Miller BATMAN hardcover, which is probably the single most influential book i own. I pored over that thing a billion times and it broke my little brain. Say what you will about the man, but comics will forever owe a huge debt of gratitude to Frank Miller, and i personally can never fully express what his work has meant to me over the years.

Sketch of the Day! BENJAMIN GRIMM

Tony

Today's selection: The Idol of Millions, the Ever Lovin' Blue Eyed Thing himself, BENJAMIN GRIMM. One of Marvel's most classic misfit heroes, and a ton of fun to draw.

Sketch of the Day! LOKI

Tony

i know everybody likes Tom Hiddleston, but let's be honest, the real star is that badass horned helmet.

Sketch of the Day! SCHLITZIE

Tony

ONE OF US! ONE OF US! GOOBLE GOBBLE!  WE ACCEPT YOU! ONE OF US!

The real-life inspiration for American Horror Story: Freakshow's Pepper, SCHLITZIE was a circus performer in the early 20th century, best known for his role in Todd Browning's cult classic, FREAKS. If you do not own a copy of this movie, you definitely should.

Sketch of the Day! REN & STIMPY

Tony

REN & STIMPY was one of the most influential cartoons of my generation. All our minds were warped by John K's heightened psychodrama and macro-lens detail shots. Here's my small tribute to their greatness.

9" x 8.5", inks (w/ Raphael brushes) and Copic Marker on chipboard.

Sketch of the Day! URSULA

Tony

Today's choice was The Little Mermaid's URSULA. Admittedly, i mostly wanted to draw Flotsam and Jetsam, but i ended up having a blast on the whole thing. And so ends my week of Disney villains. Perhaps i will revisit this theme again someday, because it was pretty damn fun.
