Sketch of the Day! DEADMAN SKETCH CARD

Tony

sketchcard_56_web.JPG

Today's card is DEADMAN

This is a character i have fun playing with, trying to figure out exactly what my take on him is.

I've got a pile of Sketch Cards done up, and every day at 7PM EST (for a while), I will post one for $75.

When they're gone, they're gone, so get 'em while the gettin's good!

You can find the original for this piece over in my STORE.

Sketch of the Day! LOBO

Tony

Yeah, i like drawing th' Main Man. That book was one of the primary forces in warping my young prepubescent mind. I did this sketch on the road a while back, which i live-broadcast on my Facebook page. I recently got some new pens, and was thrilled with the textures i was getting out of it.

This piece is 8.5" x 11", ink on card stock.

You can find the original for this piece over in my STORE.

Happy Birthday, Jack Kirby!

Tony

Jack Kirby was the undisputed King of Comics. Nobody before him or since has rivaled the intensity of his output or his feverish creativity. Most of what we know and love in comics is either derived from or came directly from his hand. We all salute this man, who was the paragon of our craft.

This is the design sketch for a little tribute to Kirby that i stuck into my run on Punisher: Franken-Castle, which is the stained glass window from the monsters' church, featuring Kirby's monsters and his vision of God himself, based on several drawings he had done, which may look familiar to readers who remember another iteration of God I have drawn in some comics.

Sketch of the Day! DEADMAN

Tony

I've had a fistful of these Copic-rendered sketches sitting on deck for months now, so i figure it should start posting them. I'll put one up every Friday until i've posted all those 5-minute requests. That should carry me through a few more weeks.

I've always had a soft spot for DC's supernatural characters, and Boston Brand is one of the coolest. Here's my ghoulish take on DEADMAN.

8.5" x 9.75, inks & acrylics (w/ Raphael brushes) and Copic Marker on chipboard.

The original art for this piece can be found over in the STORE.

Sketch of the Day! DEATHSTROKE

Tony

The other day, i did a broadcast where i sketched up a big pile of 5-Minute requests.  The first one up was Deathstroke, which i revisited for a couple minutes with the pen for some shading.

8.5" x 11", inks (w/ Raphael brushes) on card stock.

The original art for this piece can be found over in the STORE.

Sketch of the Day! ARSEFACE

Tony

Pucker up for everybody's favorite lovable scamp, ARSEFACE from Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon's PREACHER comics, now a new hit show on AMC!

You can watch a replay of me drawing this piece on Periscope, under my twitter handle @TonyMoore, and stay tuned for upcoming live-streams of future sketches, as well!

Sketch of the Day! THE DARK KNIGHT

Tony

"You don't get it, boy..."

When i turned 10, i got to go see Tim Burton's BATMAN , and I received a copy of The Complete Frank Miller BATMAN hardcover, which is probably the single most influential book i own. I pored over that thing a billion times and it broke my little brain. Say what you will about the man, but comics will forever owe a huge debt of gratitude to Frank Miller, and i personally can never fully express what his work has meant to me over the years.

8.5" x 9.75, inks (w/ Raphael brushes) and Copic Marker on chipboard.

The original art for this piece can be found over in the STORE.

Sketch of the Day! SAINT OF KILLERS

Tony

If they told stories about this son of a bitch in Sunday school, i probably wouldn't have stopped going to church! Today's sketch features the Saint of Killers, from Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon's amazing PREACHER.

8.5" x 9", inks (w/ Raphael brushes) and Copic Marker on chipboard.

The original art for this piece can be found over in the STORE.
